MSc Finance


Our quantitative approach to teaching - a mix of the latest research and practical application - and the breadth of topics covered make the MSc Finance a unique and highly respected qualification. Now in its tenth year, the MSc Finance is one of an elite group of programmes to work in partnership with the CFA Institute, ensuring you graduate with a head start to the internationally recognised CFA qualification.

Recent graduates have secured careers with: Barclays Capital, Credit Suisse, Citigroup, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Goldman Sachs, ING, JP Morgan, KPMG, Morgan Stanley and UBS.

MSc Risk Management and Financial Engineering


Our MSc Risk Management and Financial Engineering equips students with the cutting-edge risk management tools and strategies utilised by the world’s leading financial firms. Developed with insight from Standard and Poor's, the programme ensures students gain the depth of understanding required to advance in a risk management career.

Recent graduates have secured careers with: Goldman Sachs, UBS, ING, Merrill Lynch and Bank of America.

MSc Actuarial Finance


In response to market needs and working closely with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and an advisory board of large actuarial employers in pensions and insurance, Imperial College Business School has developed the innovative MSc Actuarial Finance.

Upon successful completion of the programme you will receive a Master’s in Actuarial Finance. If you do sufficiently well, as determined by an examiner appointed by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, you will also be exempt from all of the following UK professional actuarial examinations: CT2, CT7, CT8, and all CA and ST subjects except CA2.

The programme attracts students working for a range of companies including: Aon, Hewitt, Mercer, PWC Towers Perrin and Watson Wyatt.

Doctoral Studentships

The Imperial College Business School’s Doctoral programme empowers students to be at the forefront of ground-breaking research. We currently have up to 12 fully-funded EPSRC and ESRC PhD studentships including one each in partnership with QinetiQ and Liang O’Rourke, two specifically in Finance, one in Economics and one in Healthcare Innovation. These are available immediately for UK/EU candidates looking to progress their career in academia or industry.
Successful candidates are supported throughout their academic cycle. In the first year they will attend a compulsory training programme in research methods and personal effectiveness, parts of which are taught by Imperial College’s award winning Graduate School. They will also have access to a dedicated careers service, a strong global alumni network and a vibrant social life in the heart of London. To apply, please use the online application form.
