Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking

COMPANY SNAPSHOT

Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking is responsible for developing and managing the overall integrated banking relationship with the larger, more financially sophisticated corporate customers [and potential customers] operating in or from Ireland. Our clients also include those corporate entities engaged in specific sectors, segments and industries outside Ireland including Property, Global Project Finance, Acquisition Finance, Investment Grade, Asset Based Lending (CABL), Media, Telemedia and Maritime. We have substantial businesses located in Ireland, UK, US and Continental Europe.

In 2006 we will have opportunities for graduates within both our Irish and UK businesses.

FULL-TIME GRADUATE HIRES

In which areas of Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking are you placing graduates?
Within our 5 core front-line businesses – Institutional Banking, Domestic Corporate, Specialised Finance, Property & Global Project Finance.

What does a typical graduate rotation look like?
The graduate rotation commences with a Graduate Orientiation Programme based in Dublin. Then the graduate joins one of our core businesses for an 18 month placement. The primary learning experience is based on working with highly professional, skilled corporate bankers as part of either a relationship management, portfolio management or international lending team where the graduate will broaden and develop their skills and knowledge base. During the 18 month placements, graduates will undertake a number of credit-related training programmes and other personal development activities as identified as part of their personal development plan. An individually tailored approach is adopted to ensure greatest effectiveness. At the end of 18 months we will then agree a further rotation with the graduate depending on their development need at that stage. We actively encourage mobility across the business, including international mobility.

Which offices take graduates?
Currently Dublin and London offices.

How much do you pay graduates?
Competitive remuneration package based on the different markets within which we base our graduates.

COMPANY CULTURE

Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking forms part of the Wholesale Financial Services Division of the Bank of Ireland Group. It has been undergoing a period of rapid growth over the last number of years, particularly through expansion into new, niche sectors and as a result of substantial overseas growth.

Our people represent the key cornerstone to the ongoing expansion and development of our business. Our business is first and foremost a customer-driven, relationship business and everyone across Corporate Banking (whether front-line roles or supporting functions) has a critical part to play in delivering world-class service. We have a deeply embedded Performance Management culture which enables us to identify and reward top performers. Personal development plans form part of the performance management process and link with the annual training needs analysis process, whereby we ensure that current and future skills needs for both the business and the individual are being identified and addressed in a systematic manner. Employee engagement is a key enabler of business success and we actively work together at team level to identify and follow through on actions which will increase engagement levels across the business..
